SAIM and ZF launch TotalUpgrade refit programme
The ZF TotalCommand system includes integrated joystick control
SAIM and ZF have introduced TotalUpgrade, a refit initiative that enables existing propulsion control systems to be replaced with the ZF TotalCommand manoeuvring system, including an integrated joystick.
The programme, intended for a range of vessel types, supports the replacement of previous-generation control systems, including non-ZF equipment. It is scheduled to launch officially at the Genoa International Boat Show, taking place from 1 to 6 October 2026, at stand YP85.
The upgrade centres on the installation of the ZF TotalCommand platform with joystick control. According to the partner companies, the system is designed to simplify manoeuvring, particularly during docking, while providing more coordinated management of onboard propulsion controls.
The package also includes updated user interfaces and revised control hardware. SAIM says installation and after-sales support will be provided through its network of dealers and service centres.
The offer includes the joystick system as part of the package, together with the removal of the existing controls and installation of the new equipment by SAIM-approved technicians. Pricing varies according to the type and size of the vessel.
