SAY Carbon Yachts prepares for expansion in 2025

SAY Carbon Yachts

SAY Carbon Yachts, a manufacturer of carbon fibre yachts, has revealed details of its plans for 2025 and 2026, as the German boatbuilder sets its sights on ambitious global growth following a challenging period.

SAY filed for insolvency in early 2024 after lower-than-expected growth and sales during 2023. The firm relaunched in July 2024 after securing an undisclosed investment from Danish entrepreneur Martin Pedersen, who has business interests across Europe and the Middle East and is described by SAY as a “superyacht enthusiast.”

The refreshed leadership team since last year’s takeover includes Pedersen as owner and Holger Schlechter as CEO. Karl Wagner — the previous owner of the firm — is now chief technology officer, and Carlos Vassallo has been appointed global head of sales.

Speaking to MIN during boot Düsseldorf, Vassallo revealed the firm’s plans to introduce two new models of carbon fibre yachts in 2025, and one more in 2026.

“The investment will go into the development of new products as well as new and existing markets,” Vassallo tells MIN. “We are launching not one but two new models this year, and another one next year. These are the SAY 52, due to launch in Palma in April; the new model 42 Open, due to launch in Cannes in September; and the SAY 32, which is due to launch in 2026.”

Vassallo adds: “Our target markets are Europe/Med in 2025, with an outlook towards the US and the Middle East in Q4 and 2026.”

SAY confirms the forthcoming yacht range will emphasise fuel economy and performance, aiming to “minimise environmental impact” while maintaining high-speed efficiency and craftsmanship.

“As we embrace this exciting new era, we are dedicated to pushing the boundaries of yacht design and performance,” says Pedersen. “Our focus on innovation and global growth will enable us to serve our customers’ unique needs better and redefine their experience. This is just the beginning, and we look forward to shaping the future of yachting with our valued partners and customers.”

Production will continue at the company’s Lake Constance facility in Germany, ensuring a focus on precision engineering while exploring opportunities in new markets.

SAY Carbon Yachts is now well-equipped to deliver its innovation and excellence and is committed to the development of outstanding products that exceed the expectations of customers worldwide,” says CTO Karl Wagner.
