Seawork 2025: Wessex Resins & Adhesives wins export award

Wessex Resins & Adhesives has received the David Coleman Excellence in Exporting Award 2025 in recognition of its international sales and development of epoxy-based solutions.
Based in Romsey, in the English county of Hampshire, the company employs a 40-strong team and supplies products to sectors across the marine industry. These include work with BAE Systems on Ministry of Defence projects and support for historic boatyards restoring Rivas on Italy’s lakes.
The company is the EMEA manufacturer and supplier of the West System, Pro-Set and Entropy Resins brands under license. It also develops and distributes bespoke resin and adhesive solutions for a global client base.

Sam Oliver, operations director at Wessex Resins & Adhesives, says: “I’m just so pleased that our hard-working team involved in our exporting of all things epoxy gets the recognition they deserve.”
Martin Pickett, factory manager, adds: “My team are immensely proud to have been recognised for their dedication and efforts in fulfilling overseas orders from the factory over the past year.”
Suzanne Blaustone, CEO of Barton Marine, announced the award at the MTA Awards dinner at the Grand Café in Southampton and presented the trophy to Oliver during Seawork 2025.
“It’s hard to remember a more challenging time to be an exporter, and it’s great to be able to recognise the work and dedication of Wessex Resins & Adhesives in their exporting success around the world,” Blaustone says. “The range of companies and industry areas they sell to and provide with fantastic technical and customer service must be commended.”
Among the innovations developed by the company is a specialist epoxy formulation that can be mixed, applied and cured underwater.
The David Coleman Award for Excellence in Exporting commemorates the late David Coleman, a prominent member of British Marine, where he served on the board for 25 years. In 1986, Coleman acquired Barton Marine and developed it into an international brand. The company is now led by Blaustone.
