The first full-electric Sialia 45 yacht is progressing through its construction phase at the company’s shipyard in Poland. With the hull and deck now fully completed, Sialia says the bottom liner is currently in the final stages of lamination. The build remains on schedule, with launch expected around the end of June 2025.

The electric Sialia 45 yacht — which won a Gustave Trouvé Award for best production electric boat over 8m in 2024 — is set to make its public debut at the Cannes Yachting Festival 2025 in September.

The hull of the electric Sialia 45 is built using carbon fibre and features three different infusion techniques designed to reduce weight while maintaining strength and durability. The vessel also has a full carbon sandwich epoxy construction, which offers a high degree of rigidity and structural resilience. The sandwich core is also designed to minimise noise and vibration, contributing to quieter operation and onboard comfort.

“The full construction of the Sialia 45 is set to take around another three months for hull number one, with production ramping up to an impressive ten units per year once the initial build is complete,” says Milvio Ricci, chief commercial officer at Sialia Yachts. “This timeline reflects the high level of craftsmanship and precision that goes into creating each vessel.”

The 14-metre yacht features twin 300kW electric motors and can reach a top speed of 43 knots, according to Sialia. It has a range of 55 nautical miles at 25 knots using the standard 500kWh battery pack, or 77 nautical miles with the optional 700kWh endurance battery. The batteries can be charged from 10 to 90 per cent in just over 2.5 hours (or around 3.5 hours when equipped with the endurance pack). Customers can also opt for a biodiesel-compatible range extender of either 140kW or 350kW, which increases the maximum range to 164 or 240 nautical miles respectively.

The electric Sialia 45 yacht is available in three configurations: Runabout, Sport and Weekender. The Runabout model includes a low-profile windscreen and open deck layout. The Sport version uses a centre-console format with a full windscreen and protective top, while the Weekender includes a glass deckhouse that can be closed off at the aft, offering a climate-controlled saloon for varied weather conditions. Below deck, the layout includes a head with shower, an optional galley or saloon area, and customisable finishes that range from practical to high-spec.

Sustainability features in the 45 series include recycled cork flooring and other recycled or recyclable materials in the finishes. Maintenance is reduced compared to combustion engines, with the electric motors only requiring a grease change every ten years. The batteries are rated to 30,000 cycles and come with a five-year guarantee, in line with the rest of the propulsion system.

Founded in 2017, Sialia Yachts is owned by Silent Straits and operates from Warsaw, Poland, and Cyprus. The company has additional team members based in the Netherlands, Germany, Italy and the US. It specialises in electric yachts and is led by Stanislav Szadkowski, who began collaborating with engineer Tomasz Gackoski, now CEO at Ampros, to develop sustainable yacht designs.

Sialia Yachts launched its first model, the Sialia 57 Deep Silence, in 2022 and now offers the 45, 59 and 80 Explorer.
