Speakers announced for RYA Dinghy & Watersports Show

29er Start,

The 2022 RYA Dinghy & Watersports Show is heading to Farnborough International for the first time next month and will host acclaimed speakers including gold medallists Dylan Fletcher and Eilidh McIntyre.

The show, which is presented by Suzuki, runs from 26-27 February 2022.

British Sailing Team meteorologist, Simon Rowell, will kick things off on the main stage with his essential top tips for forecasting weather on the water, whether you’re a sailor, windsurfer or paddler.

Also on the main stage, gold medalists Dylan Fletcher and Eilidh McIntyre plus sailors from SailGP will provide insights on their sport and what is to come.

Brendon Prince will reveal the highs and lows of the world’s longest SUP journey, after he paddleboarded his way into the record books in 2021 with a circumnavigation of mainland Britain.

During the show, Eilidh McIntyre (Saturday) and Anna Burnett (Sunday) will be joined by Ian Walker and others for a crewing masterclass where they will share top advice for successful crewing.

Other speakers include British Sailing Team coach Johnny McGovern and RS’s Jake Elsbury, while the show will host over 100 exhibitors including class associations, boatbuilders, holiday companies and some of the biggest names in marine retail.

Hannah Diamond is back to present the 2022 show along with instructor and presenter Lee Timothy and windsurfing legend Peter Hart.

New for 2022 is the Watersports Stage. Wingsurfing, and the more advanced wingfoiling, are the latest watersports crazes to hit our waters and foiling instructor James Hardy will be sharing all the information needed to get started and to take flight.

The Watersports Stage will also see Peter Hart and RYA Onboard’s Hannah Cockle provide a beginner’s guide to windsurfing with clothing and kit recommendations, rigging advice and techniques.

From entry-level kit to staying safe on the water, beginners can learn the foiling fundamentals at midday with James Hardy, while those looking to progress can have their burning questions answered on everything from flight control to fully foiling jibes.

You can also become a paddleboard pro with expert advice with Brendon Prince, who offers attendees essential kit tips and techniques for paddling in different conditions and locations.
