Sunseeker International is entering a new era, with its ownership transition now complete and a new leadership structure taking shape around an ambitious growth strategy. The appointment of Scott Millar as CEO is the headline move, but a wider reshuffle brings in senior figures from automotive, technology, strategy and luxury consumer businesses. The company’s also announced that Cross Ocean Partners and Cheyne Capital have formally become its long-term owners and shareholders, following the successful completion of the ownership transfer process.

New CEO brings transformation experience to Sunseeker

Millar first joined Sunseeker through Teneo, where he supported the development of the company’s five-year growth plan. As that work progressed, his passion for the business, deep understanding of the brand and extensive experience leading complex transformations quickly distinguished him as the natural choice to lead Sunseeker into its next chapter. The appointment follows a period in which Steve Timms, as interim CEO, has guided the business through an important phase of strategic development and ownership transition.

“It was important to us not to rush the appointment of a permanent CEO. We wanted it to be someone who truly cares about this brand, who has the vision, passion and experience necessary to lead Sunseeker into its next phase of growth with true stability,” says Timms.

With more than 27 years’ experience in business transformation and operational improvement, Millar has held a range of senior executive positions across multiple international industries.

“Scott is the perfect choice,” Timms continues. “He and his team at Teneo were responsible for creating the five-year strategic plan that has been guiding our business. That’s why we’re so pleased that, after an outstanding career with Teneo, Scott has chosen to join Sunseeker permanently as CEO. He already understands our people, our products and our ambitions, and I know he will be a great leader for the company.”

Millar says that Sunseeker is one of the most admired names in the marine industry. He highlights its extraordinary heritage, saying the company has “an exceptional product range and an incredibly talented team”.

In his comments on taking the position, Millar also thanks Timms for his exceptional work and leadership and says he is looking forward to working together again over the coming months and years

“What attracted me most to Sunseeker was the scale of opportunity ahead. We have a clear vision, ambitious plans for growth and the full support of our shareholders to invest in the brand, our people and our products. I am honoured to lead the business into this next chapter and excited about what we can achieve together for our customers,” Millar concludes.

Four senior appointments strengthen leadership team

Alongside Scott Millar’s appointment, Sunseeker has also appointed four key new roles to supplement its existing executive team.

Andy Gawthorpe joins Sunseeker as chief commercial officer. He brings a track record of driving growth across automotive and motorcycle brands. With senior commercial leadership roles including global sales director at Aston Martin and seven years at Triumph Motorcycles, where he helped deliver record sales growth, Gawthorpe is said to be well positioned to lead Sunseeker’s commercial strategy and global expansion.

Ian Morgan joins Sunseeker as chief strategy officer. He comes with nearly two decades of experience delivering complex strategic transformation programmes across the automotive and premium consumer sectors. Having worked closely with the Sunseeker leadership team to develop the company’s new superyacht strategy and ambitious growth plan, Morgan has already played a role in shaping the vision that will drive the business forward.

Adrian Mardell joins Sunseeker as non-executive chairman. Mardell previously enjoyed a distinguished career at Jaguar Land Rover, where he oversaw the company’s most successful period of growth while championing transformative improvements in both customer and employee experience.

James Grove (pictured left) joins Sunseeker as chief information officer. His role will be to lead the company’s digital transformation programme. His background features senior technology leadership roles at Chelsea FC and Southampton FC. Grove has a proven track record of delivering large-scale business and technology transformation in high-performance environments. He was recognised as a HotTopics Global CIO 100 winner in 2026.

New owners back enterprise-wide transformation

The appointments reflect a clear belief that ambitious growth requires ambitious leadership, says Sunseeker. Together, the team combines extensive international experience in business transformation, commercial growth, customer experience, product development and technology innovation, united by a shared objective: delivering Sunseeker’s growth strategy and positioning the company for long-term success.

The company says that the new leadership team represents one of the most significant investments in executive talent in Sunseeker’s history and signals the company’s intent to accelerate its ambitious growth plans.

Backed by significant investment from Cross Ocean Partners and Cheyne Capital, Sunseeker has begun an enterprise-wide transformation across commercial, product and operations.

Established investment managers

The new ownership brings together two established alternative investment managers rather than traditional marine industry investors. London-based Cheyne Capital, launched in 2000, is one of Europe’s leading alternative investment managers and invests across the capital structure, from senior debt to equity, with expertise spanning real estate, strategic value credit, corporate credit, equity alternatives and multi-strategy solutions.

Cross Ocean Partners, established in 2015, is a global alternative investment manager with approximately $12.2bn in assets under management, managing commingled funds and bespoke investment mandates for institutional investors across a range of alternative investment strategies.

The firms were already closely involved with Sunseeker before taking ownership, having acted as lenders to the yachtbuilder. In November 2025, Sunseeker announced a capital injection from Cheyne Capital and Cross Ocean Partners as part of a strategic restructuring, with the relationship subsequently developing from financing into ownership after a proposed acquisition by KCP Holdings and Lionheart Capital failed to complete.

With its new ownership structure now in place and a strengthened executive team assembled, Sunseeker is positioning the next phase of its business around investment and transformation. The challenge for the new leadership will be turning that ambition into sustained growth while maintaining the identity and heritage that have made the brand one of the best-known names in the global marine industry.
