Technical Marine Supplies appointed Armare UK distributor
Armare’s composite cable technology is presented as an alternative to rod and wire rigging Technical Marine Supplies has been appointed the exclusive UK technical distributor for Armare Ropes, a specialist in composite rigging systems for marine applications.
Under the agreement, Technical Marine Supplies will supply Armare’s composite cable range, textile standing rigging, custom torsional stays and PBO (Zylon) rigging solutions across the UK market. The distribution covers OEMs, spar builders, riggers and performance sailing projects.
Armare Ropes has more than 20 years of research and development in rigging systems. Its products use fibres including PBO-Zylon, Dyneema and Kevlar for use on modern sailing yachts.
The systems are developed with professional riggers and have been proven in offshore and global racing campaigns. They are used on a range of vessels, from Grand Prix race yachts through to cruising platforms, where weight aloft, durability and load control are key considerations.
Armare’s composite cable technology is presented as an alternative to rod-and-wire rigging. The firm states that this offers an 80 per cent weight reduction compared with rod rigging, reduced stretch, lower windage due to smaller diameters, higher safety ratios and improved dynamic stability.

Through the partnership, Technical Marine Supplies will provide technical services including rig design support, specification of torsional stays and cables, integration into new builds and retrofit projects, and collaboration with naval architects, designers and rigging professionals.
UK-based supply and aftersales support are also included.
