Tessilmare welcomes fourth generation as 80th anniversary approaches
Italian equipment manufacturer Tessilmare has announced that Emma Rezzonico has officially joined the company, marking the arrival of the family firm’s fourth generation. Stepping into an operations and business development role, Rezzonico will be involved across daily management, supply chain coordination, and brand positioning, supporting the company’s established international activities.
The arrival of the next generation ensures continuity for the Italian brand as it prepares to celebrate 80 years of specialised manufacturing and worldwide distribution. That anniversary happens next year as, since 1947, Tessilmare says it has been an industry benchmark for OEM and aftermarket boat accessories, notably its patented fendering profiles and marine textile solutions.
Stryke Rub Rail targets easier installation and improved protection
Earlier this year, the Italian producer of suntops, fender profiles and marine fabrics, publicised its Stryke Rub Rail, a new rollable modular fender system.
That’s characterised by two key components: a durable, flexible PVC mounting base and a high-performance shock-absorbing insert. The system is engineered to be securely fixed using marine-grade adhesive, requiring only a limited number of non-structural screws for added stability.
Flexible and rollable for easy transportation, the product is also adaptable to curved hulls, giving a strong competitive advantage. Tessilmare developed the new Rub Rail to provide an alternative to ‘outdated protection systems that are difficult to install, visually unappealing or inefficient in shock absorption’.
According to the manufacturer, traditional fender profiles provide limited protection surface, have poor compatibility with curved hulls or complex surfaces, and are ineffective against repeated impacts. Visible screws used to affix the fenders can also damage the hull and spoil the boat’s appearance. Tessilmare says its Stryke profile has been selected for Lithuanian aluminium boatbuilder Gliseris’ G12 Explorer, following earlier use of its Bino and Bumper rub rails on other models.
The company specialises in hull-protection profiles, marine fabrics and sunshades. Over the past 18 months, its clearest area of activity has been the development of its fender-profile range, with an emphasis on easier installation, improved impact absorption and designs that work with modern hull shapes. Its products serve leisure boats, larger yachts and commercial vessels, alongside refit and replacement markets.
International distribution supports global reach
The company has also continued to promote its international distribution network and its wider product portfolio. Its website reports more than 700 dealers worldwide and a direct US operation through Mate USA, supporting customers across North America.
