The Italian Sea Group has appointed Fabio Zanobini as the manager responsible for preparing the company’s financial reports. Zanobini has been appointed as chief financial officer, with the appointment taking effect from 20 April 2026.

TISG says Zanobini has experience in administration, finance and control, gained in industrial groups and multinational companies, including listed businesses.

The news comes as TISG responds to financial challenges that have come to light in recent months.

In January, TISG launched legal action in Sicily, seeking almost £400m from the widow of the British technology entrepreneur Mike Lynch, arguing that it suffered severe commercial damage after the sinking of the superyacht Bayesian.

In early March 2026, the Italian boatbuilder launched a forensic financial investigation into ‘unauthorised’ overspending. The same month, MIN also reported that The Italian Sea Group and GC Holding’s CEO Giovanni Costantino had filed a criminal complaint, alleging financial collusion and mismanagement.

In recent years, Zanobini served as CFO and group CFO of design firm Tecno Spa and decorative surface specialist Neodecortech. He previously held senior executive positions at BT Italia and Sorgenia.

In a separate decision, the board resolved to assign the internal audit function to an external professional organisation, Peak Compliance. Elena Bocchino has been designated as head of internal audit. The company says the appointment is for 12 months.
