The new social distancing commute?

This is not a sight you see every day.

Marie Barrue, an athlete born and raised in Mediterranean, posted the footage on her instagram (@marriebarrue), with the simple caption ‘girls rock’. Her followers are delighted, although a few pointed out the obvious difficulties her heels might cause for tacking, and the deck. And, of course, the discomfort. Asked whether she leapt into the water, she says: “I thought about it, but I didn’t want to jump in the water because this is my only suit and need it to work. I will try to get another one.”

It’s a terrific watch as it’s such a wonderful sight.

Check out Barrue’s heels. As anyone who’s worn similar can tell you, her exploits are next level.

Commentators have tagged Alex Thomson Racing. Thomson is well known for his onboard exploits in Hugo Boss gear, though MIN suspects he has more than the one suit. Here he is performing his keel, mast and air walks. However although asked for comment about Barrue’s heeled exploits, Alex Thomson Racing and Hugo Boss have not responded.
