Torqeedo outboards now available via Yamaha dealer network

From January 2025, selected Torqeedo outboards will be available in the UK, Ireland, Switzerland, Croatia, Slovenia, Italy, Spain and Portugal via Yamaha’s dealer network. This follows on from Torqeedo becoming part of Yamaha Motor in April last year.
The range will include the travel ultralight (1-3hp equivalent), the travel family (2-5hp equivalent) and the more powerful cruise models (6-25hp equivalent) for larger boats up to 12 tons.
The companies say that the merger of the dealer networks marks another milestone in their integration process, and strengthens Torqeedo’s sales structures.
“We are delighted to broaden our presence through Yamaha’s extensive and reliable dealer network,” says Timm Burmeister, director of global business development.
“This partnership not only enhances our ability to introduce our innovative drive technologies to additional dealers, but also leverages local expertise and deep market knowledge.”
Torqeedo has been developing electric propulsion technologies for almost 20 years. Based in Germany, the company also makes pod motors as well as complete hybrid systems with integrated battery and energy management.
Earlier this week, Torqeedo confirmed that Fabian Bez stepped down as the firm’s CEO on 1 January 2025. In a statement, Torqeedo says Bez — who held the position of CEO since 2022 — departs via mutual agreement and will now ‘strive for new endeavours.’ Heiko Vietmeier, who has been the company’s CFO since November 2022, assumes the role of CEO in addition to his current responsibilities.
