UK dealership renews Hamble Point lease for another decade

Inspiration Marine Group has renewed its lease for a 1,500sq ft office in The Chandlery Building at MDL’s Hamble Point Marina, committing to a further ten years at the site. The dealership, established in 2000, has operated from Hamble Point for nearly 25 years, leveraging the marina’s location at the gateway to the Solent and its facilities.
MDL recently revealed a £13.6m investment programme for the 2024/25 season, aimed at enhancing facilities and services for berth holders, tenants and visitors. As part of this initiative, Inspiration Marine’s offices will undergo a refurbishment, requiring the team to temporarily relocate to nearby Firefly Road for a four-month period.
“We’re delighted to continue our longstanding relationship with MDL and Hamble Point Marina,” says Phil Dollin, director at Inspiration Marine Group. “The Solent is the hub of UK boating, and Hamble Point offers the perfect setting for our operations, with easy access for test sails and other activities.
“The refurbishment reflects our commitment to providing an exceptional environment for our staff and clients, and we look forward to returning to our updated offices in the spring.”

The group employs 18 staff across its locations at Hamble Point and Inverkip in Scotland. Its services include commissioning, servicing, repairs, refits and brokerage, delivered through Michael Schmidt & Partners. Inspiration Marine is the longest-standing Hanse dealership outside Germany and specialises in Hanse, Moody, Dehler and Fjord models.
“Inspiration Marine has been an integral part of the Hamble Point Marina community for nearly 25 years,” says Tim Mayer, MDL sales and marketing director. “Their reputation for professionalism and deep industry knowledge aligns perfectly with MDL’s commitment to excellence. We’re proud to support their growth with this refurbishment and lease renewal and look forward to seeing their continued success.”
