Turkish superyacht marina names new CEO

Tevfik Umut Özkan Tevfik Umut Özkan has been promoted from commercial director.

Yalıkavak Marina has appointed Tevfik Umut Özkan as CEO. The Bodrum marina, Turkey’s first high-capacity superyacht facility, has a capacity for 620 yachts, including vessels up to 140 metres.

In his role, Özkan will oversee the management of Yalıkavak Marina, Yalıkavak Marina Hotel and Garden Hotel. In a media release, the marina says his focus includes strengthening environmental sustainability practices, enhancing visitor services and reinforcing the marina’s international standing.

Özkan has 20 years of experience in senior management, with expertise in business development, marketing, retail, ports and logistics. He has spent the past six years as commercial director at Yalıkavak Marina, where he managed investments, commercial strategies and partnerships with luxury brands.

Prior to his position at Yalıkavak Marina, he was business development director at the Jockey Club of Turkey, where he developed new business areas and revenue-generating projects.

Yalıkavak Marina has received multiple accolades, including ‘Best Superyacht Marina of 2018-2019 and 2022-2023’ and ‘Best International Marina of 2020-2021’ from The British Yacht Harbour Association (TYHA). It holds a 5 Gold Anchors Platinum rating and has been awarded the Blue Flag and Clean Marina Certificate for its environmental initiatives.

The marina operates year-round, welcoming over 2m visitors from 120 countries annually and employing more than 3,000 people.
