Typhoon International launches its first dedicated dinghy collection

Typhoon International says it will launch its first range of personal protective gear designed specifically with dinghy sailors in mind at Metstrade 2021.

The new dinghy collection includes a front entry drysuit, long johns and tops, smoke, boots, gloves and buoyancy aids.

“We’re very pleased to be introducing Typhoon’s new dinghy range at METS,” says Amy Grealish, marketing and communications manager at Typhoon International. “Following considerable research and development, the extensive range covers everything a dinghy sailor could need, from drysuit to buoyancy aid to wetsuit. Professional or amateur, male, female or youth, our innovative collection of high performance and durable apparel has got them covered.”

In the range is the Runswick front entry drysuit. This is made from strong, waterproof, windproof and breathable TX-4 fabric and features a diagonal front entry YKK Aquaseal zip and Glideskin neoprene cuff and neck seals, while PU reinforced knees and seat ensure longevity of the drysuit even when used by the most active sailors.

The Caliso3 eco long john and top is made from limestone neoprene and eco carbon black.

Typhoon says it has contoured seams, and its ergonomic and energy efficient design offers movement, flexibility and stretch. Water ingress is minimised by the glued and blind stitched sealed seam system.

The Annan thermashield top features a warm fleece liner and rubberised outer shell with taped seams and a high roll snug fitting collar while the Renvyle smock is waterproof, wind proof and highly breathable.

The Runswick4 is a hard wearing dinghy boot, with full side lace up fastening for easy entry and an inner gusset limits water ingress along that side of the boot.

Warmth is afforded by 4.5mm of neoprene, and durability by rubber on the sole, toe and heel. A protective ribbed upper allows for grip on the toe straps, especially when hiking.

The Reeth3 is a durable 3mm zipped hiking boot made from REACH compliant neoprene.

Zip slip is prevented by a clever hook and loop tab, while water ingress at the zipper is limited by an inner gusset.

With a stiff sole for complete support and protection, the Reeth3 is said to have great non-slip properties with the ribbed upper offering excellent grip on toes straps when hiking.

The Towyn glove uses a specialist fabric technology combined with ultra-grip durable palm protection to maximise performance, durability and dexterity when used on the water while the Colwyn glove is a durable lightweight solution to protecting hands out in the elements, while not restricting dexterity and range of movement.

Typhoon International’s Amrok 50N F/E buoyancy aid features a front entry YKK zip, shoulder and side adjustments, zip chest pocket and crotch strap attachment. It’s available in a range of colours including black/graphite/blue, black/graphite/red and black/graphite.
