VIDEO: Largest cruise ship ever completes sea trials

The largest cruise ship ever built, Royal Caribbean’s Wonder of the Seas, is one step nearer completion, having finished her first round of sea trials.

At over 236,000 gross tons in size, Wonder of the Seas is larger than any other cruise ship and over five times bigger than the Titanic. The fifth Oasis Class ship from Royal Caribbean, Wonder of the Seas is now scheduled to debut in March 2022, according to Cruise Fever.

During the four day sea trial, more than 40 acceptance tests were completed, including checking piping, electricity and the heating, ventilation and air-conditioning (HVAC) system.

Testing the vessel to its limit on propulsion, navigation and engine performance, Wonder of the Seas travelled around 1500 nautical miles and reached a top speed of 24 knots.
