WATCH: Boat blaze in Singapore

A fire broke out onboard a vessel berthed at Keppel Bay, Singapore, yesterday (30 May 2022), with Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) firefighters trying to extinguish the blaze.

According to reports by the SCDF, the firefighters were alerted to the boat blaze around 11.30am. With assistance from staff at the premises, the firefighting teams deployed three water jets and three hose reels from the pier to surround the vessel so as to contain the fire and prevent it from spreading to other vessels.

A reader of Channel News Asia (CNA), sent in the video below to the news channel.

Fortunately, the SCDF reported there were no injuries. The fire was eventually extinguished after around an hour with the cause of the fire now under investigation.
