Women in Marine returns to SIBS with revised format

British Marine has confirmed the return of the Women in Marine event at the 2025 Southampton International Boat Show (SIBS), along with a revised schedule and venue. The event will now be held on Wednesday 24 September, from 4.30pm to 6.30pm, at the event’s Quarterdeck Bar & Restaurant.
The programme includes a panel discussion featuring female professionals from across the marine sector, followed by a networking session. British Marine says the panel will offer insights into different career paths and experiences within the industry. The event is open to all genders.
“Women in Marine continues to be a vital platform for celebrating and supporting women in our industry,” says Lesley Robinson, CEO of British Marine. “This year, we are introducing a new venue and time to enhance the experience, creating even more opportunities for engaging discussions and meaningful connections.
“We are excited to bring together an incredible panel of inspirational female leaders who are shaping the future of our sector. We encourage everyone to save the date and join us for an afternoon of learning, networking, and empowerment.”

The speaker line-up and theme for 2025 will be announced in the coming months. Food and drinks will be available during the networking portion of the event. Those interested in attending can register by email to receive updates.
The Southampton International Boat Show, which runs from 19 to 28 September 2025, is one of the largest on-water events in Europe.
Ahead of the September event, British Marine is also participating in the Global Women’s Walk 2025.
Organised by the Soundings Trade Only Group, Marine Industry News, Metstrade and British Marine, the event invites participants to walk 5km (3.2 miles) in any location. The initiative, which is open to all genders, aims to recognise the contributions of women in the marine sector.
The event will raise awareness beyond the marine industry by supporting Room to Read, a global nonprofit focused on literacy and gender equality in education.
Participants are encouraged to document their walks on social media using #GlobalWomensWalk2025. Posts will be displayed during the Women in the Marine Industry International Event at Metstrade on 19 November 2025.
