World Drowning Prevention Day sees Savvy Navvy join forces with RNLI

Marine navigation technology firm Savvy Navvy has announced a new collaboration with the RNLI to promote water safety across the UK and Ireland.
The partnership launched in alignment with today’s (Friday, 25 July) World Drowning Prevention Day 2025, highlighting a commitment to preventing incidents at sea.
As part of this collaboration, Savvy Navvy will donate a portion of the proceeds from every app subscription sold via the RNLI, contributing to the charity’s operations. The firm’s app, designed for a range of leisure marine users, provides route planning, weather updates, and tide data based on real-time conditions.
The partnership also involves integrating RNLI safety messaging into the Savvy Navvy app, including in-app alerts for high-risk areas.
Continuing to scale up its ongoing growth, the firm has appointed several new hires and made various leadership changes, including the most recent promotion of Misha Vysokovskiy to chief product officer (CPO) earlier this year.
“We’re proud to support the RNLI in their vital mission to save lives at sea and promote water safety. We aim to empower those who protect others with our innovative navigation app. By both amplifying RNLI water safety messages to our users and adding crucial RNLI safety features into the Savvy Navvy app, we are working together to make waters even safer.
“We know how big a part understanding the tides, weather conditions and route planning can have on water safety. Better preparation leads to safer experiences on the water — and that’s exactly what Savvy Navvy was built for,” says Jelte Liebrand, founder and CEO of Savvy Navvy.
In 2024 alone, RNLI lifeboat crews launched over 9,100 times and helped more than 8,200 people, an average of 23 individuals per day.
Peter Sparkes, chief executive of the RNLI, says: “Delivering water safety information to people in the right place at the right time is a core part of the RNLI’s mission of saving lives at sea. Thanks to this affiliation with Savvy Navvy, seafarers will be able to access safety advice alongside other vital information such as charts, weather and tides.
“Having such a comprehensive resource at their fingertips will be immensely useful to those taking to the water, helping them to plan their trip and stay safe at the same time.”
