Yacht Sentinel releases YS Pro

Yacht Sentinel YS Pro

Yacht Sentinel, a European company specialising in connected boat technologies, has launched YS Pro — a new digital boating solution combining a security system, wi-fi hotspot, customer support and big data analytics.

Yacht Sentinel, which is headquartered in Paris, says YS Pro is designed to digitally transform yacht ownership, management and after-sales service with the introduction of a new CRM for businesses and an accompanying customer app.

YS Pro is an all-in-one product that combines a security system, an array of wireless sensors, and a big data solution capable of collecting and analysing all available data on the NMEA 2000 backbone. It doubles as a wi-fi hotspot.

“YS Pro is the culmination of extensive research and collaboration with our esteemed partners. It stands at the forefront of connected boat technology, poised to revolutionise the industry,” said Romain Devismes, CEO of Yacht Sentinel. “We are thrilled to equip our first clients with this game-changing technology.”

YS Pro is said to integrate seamlessly with existing boat systems. All NMEA data is automatically detected and scaled, which the firm says allows for retrofitting in under 30 minutes.

The Partner Platform CRM system allows shipyards, dealers, and charter companies access insights into average boat usage. This data can also be given to customer support teams to provide assistance or for dealers to schedule maintenance based on actual boat usage.

The user app, customisable for fleet managers, offers boat owners access to live and historical information, including battery status, fuel level, bilge pump activity and precise positioning. Users receive notifications for any irregularities or impending maintenance requirements. The network of wireless sensors on YS Pro also functions as a security system.

Yacht Sentinel says that, by leveraging integrated NMEA Big Data solutions and employing edge computing, YS Pro can allow insurance companies to offer ‘black box premiums’, similar to the automotive industry, and to enhance loss recovery, accurately apportion liability and expedite claims settlement.
