Zhik unveils new slip-on watersports shoes
Australian sailing brand Zhik has debuted its new Superthin Bootie for watersports and sailing.
Zhik says the shoes have a durable, high-gauge knit upper and an ultra-thin, super flexible, robust rubber sole, for added grip and foot protection. The thin sole is designed to enhance bare-foot sensation to aid agility around a boat or on a watersports board.
The advanced knitted upper is said to be four times more durable than traditional neoprene booties and combines three knit variations that provide foot support, stretch and quick drainage. A lightweight and soft EVA removable innersole adds foot comfort and stability.
Elasticated panels keep the shoes secure while allowing them to be slipped on and off, while integrated drainage points are positioned in the foot arch to expel any water, keeping the boots lightweight.
The new booties are available now, retailing for RRP £79.95 (€94.95).
In February 2023, Zhik launched an equity crowdfunding campaign to raise AU$4m (£2.29m) to drive future growth. The firm has recently been appointed as the official technical partner to the US SailGP Team and US SailGP Team Foiling First.
