Yamaha Motor to expand headquarters

Yamaha's new corporate building The planned Corporate Building at Yamaha’s Iwata headquarters

Yamaha Motor has revealed plans to significantly expand its global headquarters in Iwata, Japan, with the construction of two new buildings.

The firm relocated its headquarters to Iwata almost 55 years ago and has since developed the site as the centre of its manufacturing and corporate operations. The company states that the current headquarters buildings now face constraints related to ageing infrastructure, limited space and the separation of functions across multiple facilities.

According to Yamaha Motor, the new buildings are intended to consolidate functional departments on a single site to improve operational efficiency. The office environment has been planned to support flexible working arrangements, including remote work, with a layout intended to encourage communication across teams and departments.

The new Quality Assurance Centre is planned as a dedicated base for quality assurance operations and will consist of six above-ground floors with a total floor area of 11,444sqm. Quality assurance departments and facilities currently spread across seven buildings will be consolidated into the new centre.
