Yanmar has expanded its saildrive portfolio with the launch of the new SD110 and SD150 saildrives, designed for sailing monohulls and catamarans up to 20 metres.

These systems extend Yanmar’s offerings to owners of larger sailing boats looking for efficient, reliable propulsion solutions.

The SD110 pairs with Yanmar’s 4JH80 and 4JH110 standard rail engine models, while the SD150 has been developed to work with the higher-powered 4LV150. Together they provide what Yanmar describes as an exclusive combination of common rail performance and saildrive efficiency for vessels requiring increased output.

The systems have been engineered for clean installation and smooth operation, incorporating hydraulic shifting and compatibility with Flexofold foldable propellers – features that help reduce noise, vibration and drag.

According to the firm, the compact, electrically controlled design also simplifies production and installation, reducing costs for OEMs.

Floris Lettinga, director of Sales & Marketing at Yanmar Marine International, highlights: “By bringing the SD110 and SD150 Saildrives into the Yanmar line-up, we’re reinforcing our commitment to customers by ensuring our products are compact, easy and safe to install with no specific alignments required, which also simplifies the production process and reduces costs for OEMs.”

With availability in over 130 countries, the SD110 and SD150 will be supported by Yanmar’s global network.
