Zhik introduces new women’s offshore jacket for 2021

Joining the Zhik range in 2021 is the new OFS700 coastal/offshore jacket for women and unisex salopettes. Designed to cross over a range of sailing conditions, the OSF700 is constructed from Zhik’s two-layer Apex, a fabric incorporating a rugged, hydrophilic, breathable membrane with a durable water repellent (DWR) outer.

Fully seam taped throughout, each critical seam junction is further reinforced to ensure ultimate waterproof protection. Both jacket and salopettes are lined with a soft internal mesh, which the company says maximises airflow and breathability when active and traps body heat in colder conditions.

The OFS700 women’s jacket is tailored to allow layering underneath. It comes with utility pockets, separate fleece-lined hand warmers, and a zipped chest pocket. YKK® Aquaguard® Water resistant zips are used throughout.

The high cut ocean collar offers protection from wind and spray and the full face shield can be folded down when conditions ease. The hood has an integral peak with side and rear adjustment for a bespoke fit and, after use, it stows away inside the large collar pouch.

Reflexite® safety strips are positioned on the shoulders, wrist and hood to increase visibility to other crew members, and the reinforced lower back panel protects the jacket from non-slip deck abrasion.

The jacket sleeves are double sealed, with outer Velcro adjusted wrist tabs and inner adjustable PU cuffs, designed to prevent water ingress.

The OFS700 Salopettes are customised for a comfortable fit using Zhik’s signature ‘set & forget’ streamlined suspender adjustments together with the adjustable waist cinch. The soft mesh suspenders are said to provide maximum airflow, flexibility and comfort for prolonged use.

Knee, seat, crotch area and the ankle cuffs are protected from coarse, non-slip decks with a 500-denier abrasion resistant fabric. A cargo pocket and multi-tool pouch are incorporated, made with the same abrasion resistant fabric to reduce wear from tools and blades.

A fitted ankle closure is adjusted with an ergonomically shaped, Velcro tightening system said to distribute pressure evenly around the leg, creating a tight seal. An inner gusset inside the trousers sits behind the two-way YKK® Vislon® front zip, offering additional waterproof protection.

Available from stockists March/April 2021 the Women’s OFS700 jacket, Anthracite, sizes XS-XL, retails for £329, while the OFS700 Salopettes, Anthracite, unisex sizes XS-XXL, retail for £249.95.

For 2021, Zhik has re-named all its foul weather ranges for easier recognition in store, with the OFS prefix for offshore/coastal products and INS for inshore/coastal products.
