Zhik launches a weatherproof, washable face mask
Hot on the heels of the call for the marine industry to lead the way with reusable face masks, Zhik has introduced a new face mask that is weatherproof, washable and said to be comfortable. Designed by Zhik‘s industrial design team, it’s also quick drying.
“When it gets wet with the spray of the bow, it still feels very comfortable,” says Piet Poelmann, CEO. “It is quick drying on the downwind stretch. Best of all, at the end of the day, just hand wash it and you are ready for another great day on the water.”
It is also a popular product for off the water, as so many sports and activities require you to wear a face mask while social distancing during exercise.
The face mask is of non-medical grade and made of polyurethane. For high activity, the mask features a regulating one-way valve to breathe out easily. In case of an emergency, the mask can be removed quickly with one hand.

Medical advice is that masks or face coverings are worn to protect others from droplets in your exhaled breath so how does having a one way valve to allow you to exhale without restriction prevent this?
