540 Adventure: Outer Reef Yachts launches new long-range motor yacht
Outer Reef Yachts, a manufacturer of long-range motor yachts, has expanded its Adventure Series with the introduction of the 540 Adventure in a bid to redefine long-range and coastal cruising, following the 780 Adventure model launched in 2024. The new 17.2-metre yacht is a result of a collaboration between Bernd Weel Design, Studio Delta Naval Architects, and Julian Moore Design.
The new model features a 2,000 nautical mile range at economical speeds and carries a CE Category A Unlimited Ocean certification. Its construction incorporates a fibreglass-reinforced plastic (FRP) hull, complemented by a Volvo Penta conventional shaft drive propulsion system.
The layout of the 540 Adventure includes three cabins, a full-beam midship master suite with optional crew quarters, and interior customisation options with various fabrics and veneers. Technical specifications included advanced navigation systems, comprehensive communication equipment, and multiple control stations for various conditions.
The firm attests to the 540 Adventure’s versatility for a broader audience and various owners, appealing to those looking at a manageable option for long-range cruising, whether first-time cruisers, owner-operators, or seasoned yacht owners looking at downsizing.
