Ancasta Group has acquired Hayling Island-based Penguin Engineering, expanding its refit, repair and aftersales capabilities.

“We’re delighted to welcome Penguin Engineering and its team into the Ancasta Group,” says Matthew Shave, CEO of Ancasta Group. “Penguin Engineering is a highly respected business with a reputation built over many years on technical expertise, trusted products and excellent customer service. Those values align closely with our own.”

The announcement comes as Ancasta continues to expand its international operations, with the group recently opening new offices in the Netherlands and Montenegro.

This new acquisition will complement the services provided by Ancasta Yacht Services, adding Penguin Engineering’s specialist product knowledge and established supply network to the group’s existing marine support offering. Penguin Engineering is the sole UK importer for several specialist marine equipment brands, including Eno, Force 10, Barka, ATI calorifiers, Carbonautica, Atlas Filtri water filtration systems, and Teak Wonder.

Shave says the acquisition will add knowledge and capability to the group and strengthen the refit, repair, and aftersales support available to its customers.

Founded in 1982, Penguin Engineering supplies marine engineers and bespoke boatbuilders across the UK, serving sectors including small commercial and leisure craft, superyachts, and British powerboat manufacturers.

Expanding aftersales support

Penguin Engineering will retain its established name as part of the Ancasta Group, with the company saying this will provide continuity for existing customers, suppliers, and partners while giving the business access to the wider group’s resources and expertise.

“Our aim is to make boat ownership as straightforward and well supported as possible, with trusted expertise and services available throughout the ownership lifecycle,” Shave says.

The acquisition further expands Ancasta Group’s portfolio of specialist marine businesses, which includes Ancasta Yacht Services, Spencer Rigging, and Advanced Rigging & Hydraulics.
