August Race has appointed Ribcraft India as its distributor in the Indian market. The new partnership comes as the UK-based company, which produces marine maintenance products, continues to expand its global distribution network.

The move marks August Race’s entry into India, where Ribcraft India will distribute the August Race Marine range. Ribcraft India is a subsidiary of Ribcraft, a company founded in Great Britain over 30 years ago. The parent company has developed a global presence as a builder of both custom and production rigid inflatable boats.

In 2024, August Race partnered with Ribcraft Middle East to distribute its products in the United Arab Emirates.

Peter Wallbank, technical director at August Race, says: “In 2023, the Indian leisure boat market generated around US$45.1m in revenue and that is expected to increase to US$57.2m by 2030 so it’s a very exciting time to be expanding into the Indian market. With decades of experience in all aspects of marine, the team behind Ribcraft India are the perfect partner for this project”

August Race, which is based on the south west coast of England, designs and manufactures a specialist range of cleaning and protection products in the UK. The firm says its products are used by boatbuilders and owners in over 30 countries.

The news comes in the same month that August Race Group joined the International Council of Marine Industry Associations, ICOMIA, as a sustaining member.
