Bering Yachts has signed a collaboration agreement with RMK Yachts for the construction of expedition superyachts over 500GT.

The partnership brings together Bering Yachts’ proven expedition yacht designs and RMK Yachts’ extensive shipbuilding experience, industrial construction capacity and specialised knowledge in ice-class and polar-class vessels. Building on Bering’s well-established expedition yacht designs and long-range cruising philosophy, the collaboration aims to deliver vessels that combine proven high-latitude capability with the volume, comfort and advanced systems expected of modern superyachts.

Under the agreement, Bering Yachts remains responsible for design direction, brand identity and client relationships, while RMK Yachts provides the advanced engineering platforms and construction infrastructure required for larger, more technically demanding projects including highly customised superyachts in the 500–3,000GT range.

Earlier this year, Turkish boatbuilder RMK Yachts began construction of a new yacht-building shipyard in Yalova, near Istanbul.

Kristina Güner, creative director, Bering Yachts, says: “True exploration has always been at the heart of Bering Yachts. Our collaboration with RMK Yachts opens a new chapter, enabling us to draw on its extensive engineering expertise and shipbuilding capabilities as we bring our vision of expedition yachting to an entirely new scale. We are combining the freedom to explore the world’s most remote destinations with exceptional design, comfort and advanced engineering.”

Alexei Mikhailov, founder and CEO of Bering Yachts, comments: “We primarily focus on the construction of superyachts above 40 metres and 500GT at RMK Yachts’ facilities, including vessels with polar class capability, and are already engaged in discussions with prospective clients for projects within this segment. We believe this collaboration creates an opportunity not only to expand our capabilities in building and selling superyachts, but also to establish a strong position in this highly specialised market.”
