Boero Yacht Coatings partners with Ferrari Hypersail

Boero Yacht Coatings, the professional yacht and superyacht coating manufacturer and brand of Gruppo Boero’s yachting division, has become the technical partner of Ferrari Hypersail. 

The Ferrari Hypersail project centres around a monohull designed for offshore endurance races, in which every component is developed as part of an integrated system. 

Boero Yacht Coatings is providing a complete coating system engineered to operate under maximum stress conditions and fully integrated into the vessel’s performance architecture. The partnership was announced during an institutional event at the home of Ferrari in Maranello, Italy.

The Hypersail project was first announced in January 2024 with more details then released by Ferrarri in June 2025.

A method-driven technical partnership 

The two brands share a vision of performance achieved through method, discipline and the ability to challenge established solutions.

Marco Ribigini, Ferrari Hypersail team leader, says: “Ferrari Hypersail was created to explore new frontiers of performance based on a fully integrated engineering approach. Coating thickness optimisation becomes a key factor for performance, with the aim to reduce weight without compromising durability and control. Making each layer thinner while preserving its full effectiveness helps to optimise the system in a vessel designed to fly over the water. 

According to Boero, the solutions adopted represent an evolution of the brand’s flagship technologies, developed to operate in an advanced experimental scenario where every gram and every micron directly affect the final result.
