Clipper Race finale takes place in Liverpool this weekend
The grand finale of the Clipper 2017-18 Round the World Yacht Race will happen in Liverpool this weekend.
Eleven yachts have gone head-to-head in 12 races over the last year and they have experienced everything from extreme heat to freezing conditions.
And tens of thousands of people are expected to head down to the banks of the River Mersey on Saturday to see the finish of the epic endurance challenge.
Once the teams cross the finish line in Liverpool Bay, it won’t officially be over because Race 13 will then conclude with a 20-mile sprint up the River Mersey towards the Royal Albert Dock in Liverpool where the race will end.
After finishing the sprint, the top three teams will be awarded three, two and one points respectively.
