Crestron launches superyacht systems technician training

Crestron is running a new systems technician training programme specifically aimed at crew members onboard superyachts. The Superyacht Systems Technician Training Program has been developed by the Crestron Training Institute in partnership with the Superyacht Electronics Academy (SEA), and can be taken online or in-person.

Crestron says the AV training covers both the basic theory and practical side of AV onboard superyachts. The five-day live class is open for superyacht crew members who want to feel comfortable while managing and troubleshooting AV systems at sea. The program combines theory with practical exercises carried out on a real-world superyacht distributed AV system and covers control systems, media switchers, Crestron DM NVX AV over IP and Crestron DM NAX audio over IP, user interfaces, as well as wiring and communication protocols.

“Superyacht crew managing AV systems at sea deserve all the support they can get,” says Daniel Kerkhof, director, Crestron Marine. “Our new training program and certification opportunity reflects our commitment in that respect. It also serves as a foundation for those superyacht crew members who want to advance their maritime technology knowledge by attending classes via the Crestron training portal.”
