Swedish marine technology manufacturer Dometic is expanding its marine segment’s manufacturing and distribution capacity with a new purpose-built facility in northern Italy.

Located in Cabiate, in the province of Como, the build-to-suit facility will replace Dometic’s existing regional premises and provide additional capacity as the business grows. The new site, which Dometic tells MIN will finish construction in early 2027, will bring manufacturing, product testing, warehousing and distribution together in one location.

The facility will increase manufacturing capacity while consolidating several operational functions. Dometic says the move will also support supply chain resilience, with the additional capacity intended to improve product availability and lead times for OEM partners and aftermarket customers.

The opening comes a year after Dometic launched its new European distribution hub in Forlì, Italy, which will remain open.

‘Positioning us for long-term growth’

Eric Fetchko, president of Dometic’s marine segment, says: “This expansion reflects Dometic’s long-term commitment to serving our worldwide marine customers. By bringing our operations together in a purpose-built facility, we will be better positioned to support our OEM partners and customers with increased manufacturing capability, reliable supply and continued innovation. Just as importantly, the new site provides a modern environment that supports our people and positions our business for long-term growth.”

Dometic supplies products for use in recreational vehicles, boats and cars, as well as standalone equipment for outdoor use. The firm employs approximately 7,000 people globally and sells its products in more than 100 countries. In 2025, the company reported net sales of SEK 21bn (US$2.3bn).
