Epoxy brand and boatbuilder back 2025 Flying Fifteen World Championships

Supplier of high-performance epoxy systems, Pro-Set Epoxy, and Ovington Boats, a builder of sailing dinghies, have announced a joint sponsorship venture of the upcoming Flying Fifteen World Championships.
The Flying Fifteen, designed by Uffa Fox in 1947, is a classic racing keelboat known to attract dedicated sailors worldwide. This year’s World Championships, set to run from 10 to 21 August, will be held at the Weymouth and Portland Sailing Academy — the first time the event has taken place on home waters.
Chris Waples, commodore of Flying Fifteen International, says: “Flying Fifteen International is delighted to have Pro-SetEpoxy in partnership with Ovington Boats as lead sponsors for the 24th World Championship in August 2025, racing in Weymouth Bay. We are incredibly grateful to have Pro-Set Epoxy and Ovington Boats, whose support is invaluable to the success of this prestigious event”.
This isn’t the first sponsorship partnership between the two, as Pro-Set Epoxy and Ovington Boats also partnered up in 2024 to sponsor the OK Dinghy World Championships.
Sam Oliver, Wessex Resins & Adhesives, comments: ”Pro-Set Epoxy is committed to supporting excellence in sailing. Our high-performance epoxy systems are trusted by boatbuilders and sailors for their strength, reliability and ability to deliver a competitive edge. We are thrilled to partner with Ovington Boats and support the Flying Fifteen World Championships.”
Nathan Batchelor at Ovington Boats also adds: “We are delighted to be sponsoring this event in conjunction with Pro-Set Epoxy. Ovington Boats have a long history with the Flying Fifteen class going back to 1989. It is a bit of a company foundation with almost 500 boats built over 35 years. Our Flying Fifteen build has evolved with the company; the early boats were wooden decked and now the boats are built using carbon with Pro-Set epoxy.”
