The award-winning Galeon 680 FLY made its US debut at the recent Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show.
Bob Burke, Galeon Brand Manager, comments: “The Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show was the perfect platform for the North American debut of the 680 FLY. The Galeon display activated every sense with music, enormous video wall, and eight innovative yachts ranging from 42 to 68 feet. The 60th anniversary of this iconic event was the perfect showcase for the Galeon brand and the current queen of the fleet, the 680 FLY.”
The Galeon 680 FLY was celebrated at the World Yachts Trophies awards at the Cannes Yachting Festival in September. The vessel won in the best exterior design category and was also nominated for best interior design.
Entry to the yacht via the hydraulic swim platform, which holds up to a 540kg tender, leads to a spacious crew cabin with accommodation for two. The unique aft galley open concept layout includes power windows that disappear into the sidewalls connecting you to the outdoors. The large salon features a retractable sunroof to further the indoors/outdoors experience.
Below deck, she features three cabins and two heads forward with a private master stateroom and en-suite aft. The flybridge compares to a much larger yacht with fully equipped bar, grill, refrigerator, storage, extensive seating areas and sunroof. Accent lighting is built into multiple entertainment areas adding to the thoughtful interior design throughout. The entire superstructure is constructed of carbon fibre, allowing an enormous bridge with low weight. Galeon is one of a limited number of factories worldwide that can build a carbon structure this size.
Burke continues: “The Galeon brand has been consistently awarded for innovation since they began building yachts in 1982. We are honoured to now add a design award to our portfolio of achievements.”
