Highfield Boats adds two dealers to its US network

Highfield Boats has announced the addition of two new dealer partners in New York state: Spellman’s Marine, a full-service boat dealership and separate marine service centre on Long Island in Hampton Bays, and Northern Marine, a full-service boat dealership and marine service centre in the Thousand Islands region in Clayton.

The move supports Highfield’s continuing market-share expansion in the United States, and the opening of a new warehouse and rigging facility in Cadillac, Michigan in June 2023.

“We are happy to welcome these two fine New York State dealers to our growing list of high-quality, service-oriented dealer partners,” says Christophe Lavigne, president of Highfield Boats USA. “They both have established themselves as leaders in their respective markets by offering top-of-the-line products their customers want and need, backed by highly attentive professional service.”

Spellman’s Marine caters to a strong base of powerboaters and anglers. “We looked at the Highfield line at a boat show, and we were attracted to the craftsmanship and fit-and-finish of the boats,” says Buddy Spellman, owner of Spellman’s Marine, which has been in operation since 1958. “Then we went on vacation to St. Thomas and the Highfield boats were all over [there]. When we returned, we contacted Tom Watson [Highfield general manager] to see if the line was available. I think the genuine quality and the aluminium hulls will really fit in well in our dealership. Our customers recognise quality and demand performance. Highfield fits that bill just right.”

Andy Gregware, owner of Northern Marine, chose Highfield RIBS for durability and reliability. “We looked at three or four boat lines, including other RIB lines, but couldn’t find any platforms that we felt were right for our existing customers and overall market,” Gregware says. “Highfield stood out from the others we looked at. We really like the durability and characteristics of the hull. The boats will provide a good fit for our recreational and commercial clients.”

In order to meet the growing demand for larger RIBS, Highfield Boats USA expanded its 2023 product line by adding five larger, offshore Highfield Sport Series RIBS capable of serving either as tenders or family day boats.
