Investor Dmitry Vasiliev acquires stake in Bering Yachts
Turkish boatbuilder Bering Yachts has added Malta-based businessman Dmitry Vasiliev as a shareholder and partner, after he acquired a significant stake in the company.
Details of the transaction have not been disclosed.
Vasiliev holds a PhD in Technical Sciences and has an engineering background and experience in the marine industry. He also holds an Executive MBA from the University of Antwerp Management School. He previously founded and served as chairman of the board of a builder of high-speed composite motor yachts and has more than 30 years of senior executive and partner-level experience in technology companies.
Bering Yachts says Vasiliev will focus on production and business processes, including manufacturing operations and quality standards. He will also work on supporting the company’s operations in the explorer yacht segment.
In a statement, the firm says his investment will contribute to Bering Yachts’ financial structure and stability.
Vasiliev will also oversee strategic collaborations within the company’s Superyacht Division, focusing on projects measuring 50m and above. Bering Yachts says it expects to announce its first major collaboration in this segment in the near future.
“We are delighted to welcome Dmitry as a shareholder and partner,” says Alexei Mikhailov, founder and CEO of Bering Yachts. “His combination of technical expertise, shipbuilding experience and deep knowledge of business optimisation will play an important role in the next stage of our development.”
Bering Yachts designs and builds semi-custom, steel-hulled expedition yachts and luxury trawler yachts from 20m to 50m, as well as fully aluminium catamarans.
In 2025, the firm consolidated all aluminium work for its expedition catamarans and superstructure production to its Bulgarian shipyard, covering models from the Bering Marine 50 to the Bering Catamaran 80.
