American-owned and Canadian-headquartered firm Mustang Survival is a manufacturer of maritime safety equipment and technical apparel. Its Atlas 190 DLX Pro is an inflatable life jacket designed for offshore sailing, cruising and boating, and features a re-engineered bladder intended for improved turning performance and airway protection.
The jacket provides 190N of buoyancy when inflated and includes an ergonomic design for comfort during extended wear, with a particular focus on reducing neck discomfort. The model incorporates ADAPT Technology (ADvanced Airway Protection & Turning), which includes specially designed bladder lobes to orient the wearer face-up, baffle barriers to shield against incoming waves and stop water from entering a wearer’s airways, and an integrated pillow for head support and stability.
“It’s a tremendous honour to be recognised among 199 other groundbreaking innovations that enhance our world in meaningful ways,” says Anja Mueller, global head of marketing for Mustang Survival. “We believe that the best life jacket is the one you wear, and by prioritising comfort with safety, we have more opportunity to protect everyone on the water.”
The Atlas 190 DLX Pro Sensor life jacket is currently available in the UK and will be introduced in North America in spring 2025. The model incorporates Hydrostatic Inflation Technology, and all variants are ISO-approved.
Mustang’s Mustang Survival Atlas 190 Pro Sensor life jacket model received a special mention at the 2023 DAME Awards.
