Marlow Ropes partners with World Of Windsurf Girls

Marlow Ropes has announced World of Windsurf (WOW) Girls as its latest ambassador partnership in the leisure marine division. With its sights set on gold for Paris 2024, this independent female team is striving for Olympic glory.

“For us it’s a great opportunity to align ourselves with another team who are pushing the boundaries of what can be achieved in their sport,” says Marlow’s leisure marine director Paul Honess. “We’re delighted to be able to support the WOW team; working with them to further our own knowledge of this new exciting IQ foil class to further develop our product offering in the wind and kitesurfing arena.”

The partnership will see Marlow and WOW, with team members Elena Sandera (SUI), and Helle Oppedal (NOR), collaborate at a number of levels over the upcoming months, prior to Paris.

Oppedal says: “Having access to the best possible gear helps us train and race with the peace of mind that our rigging systems are always going to work perfectly, every time. It’s great to be working with the Marlow team who have such depth in experience in the industry. We can’t wait to continue to develop new systems with them running into the Olympics.”

WOW team manager Chris Russell adds: “The collaboration is a great fit for both WOW & Marlow… we’re looking forward to working with the team at a number of levels as we continue to optimise our training and racing efforts.”

Earlier this year, Marlow Ropes appointed Rob Henderson as its UK leisure marine sales manager.

Henderson started his career at Lymington Yacht Haven and Lewmar before working at Harken for six years, and more recently, Stones Boatyard in Devon.
