Nanni launches 1213kW Q30000 marine generator

Marine engine manufacturer Nanni has launched the Q30000, a new flagship marine generator, at the Monaco Yacht Show, which runs from today until 26 September 2026. The model extends the company’s maximum generator output from 764kW to 1213kW.

The Q30000 is intended for larger vessels, including superyachts, megayachts and professional naval and commercial vessels. Nanni says its development comes as vessels over 100m require greater onboard power generation capacity, while emissions regulations place additional requirements on marine power systems.

Applications listed by Nanni include merchant vessels, RoRo and Ro-Pax ferries, military vessels, cargo vessels and tankers. Across these applications, the company identifies power density, fuel flexibility, efficiency and emissions compliance as key technical requirements.

Technical overview

The Q30000 is based on the MAN D3872LE engine and produces between 800 and 1213kW. It is available as a fixed-speed unit producing 800–920kW at 50/60Hz or as a variable-speed unit producing 800–1213kW, with an operating speed range of 1500–2100rpm.

The generator can operate at either 50 or 60Hz and is available with an optional soundproofed cabin. Fuel options include diesel, HVO and NATO F-76. Nanni says the range can be certified as a Full Class Genset under IMO II, IMO III and Stage V requirements.

The company also states that the Q30000 has a power-to-weight and power-to-footprint ratio suited to its category, along with fuel efficiency across its operating range. For customers already using Nanni generators up to 764kW, the Q30000 provides a route to 1213kW using the same engineering platform and support network.
