New 90m Lürssen superyacht project launched

Earlier this week, shipyard Lürssen, renowned for large luxury yacht building, launched the completed hull and superstructure of its latest 90-metre superyacht project in Rendsburg in Northern Germany.

Project 1601, which until this week had been shrouded in mystery, was launched in the traditional fashion: down the slipway.

The designer, Espen Oeinom has given the yacht a striking look. Sharing recognisable design cues from some of the builder’s most iconic yachts such as the signature panoramic sky lounge found on the superyacht Skat, blended with features such as a piercing bow shape, she’s dominated by planar surfaces, straight lines and angular corners.

The crispness of the exterior styling permeates the yacht with her interior, designed by Dölker + Voges, echoing the same design themes.

Project 1601 is now in Lürssen’s floating dock ready to undergo outfitting until she is officially launched in 2021.
