Falmouth Harbour has appointed Tristan Rowe as its new head of commercial operations.

In his new role, Rowe will focus on the sustainable growth and development of Falmouth Harbour, aiming to benefit the Trust Port’s community, customers, and stakeholders. He will work closely with CEO Miles Carden to identify and develop new business opportunities, while also enhancing customer services and the range of harbour offerings.

Rowe brings two decades of experience in the marine industry, alongside a lifelong connection to sailing and watersports. His background includes experience in after-sales and commercial operations, having worked with Cockwells Boatbuilding, Pendennis Shipyard, and MacGregor Yachts International. Carden says Rowe’s strategic priorities will include long-term growth initiatives and exploring innovative business streams, particularly in the area of marine technologies.

“We are at a pivotal stage in our growth plan and from 2025 we want to move and accelerate our plans to improve our offer to customers and realise the potential from new marine technologies,” says Carden. “commented on the appointment, saying, . “Tristan’s marine business experience will be key to our success and we are all very much looking forward to working with him.”

The news comes months after Falmouth Harbour appointed environmental scientist and businessperson Natasha Collings-Costello as a new commissioner.

In 2022, Gerald Pitts joined the board of Falmouth Harbour Commissioners (FHC) as harbour commissioner, replacing Gary Tranter, who retired after nine years’ service on the board.

Rowe, who lives in Falmouth, adds: “I’ve had the incredible good fortune to have grown up, lived and worked on and around Falmouth Harbour for most of my life. I am excited to join the Falmouth Harbour team in a role that supports, promotes, and grows the vast potential we have here. I look forward to channelling my marine business experience into continuing Falmouth Harbour’s legacy locally, nationally, and globally.”

Rowe will take over the role from Holly Manvell, who will step aside after a handover period to focus on her trustee roles and the global not-for-profit organisations she founded, including Clean Sailors, the Clean Sailors Youth Racing Team, and ReSail.
