North Sails has relocated its regional operations after 22 years in Mouans-Sartoux, opening a larger, custom-equipped Mediterranean repair loft in Fréjus.

The 700m² facility significantly expands the team’s operational capacity, enabling North Sails to service sails for yachts of 130ft and above.

Positioned adjacent to the motorway, the new Côte d’Azur facility sits 35 minutes from Saint-Tropez and approximately 75 minutes from La Ciotat, and within easy reach of Cannes, Nice and the wider coast.

Technical upgrades at the Fréjus site include two rotating sewing pits and an overhead crane system, allowing the team to maneuver and service heavy superyacht sails safely and efficiently.

The loft’s service capability spans the entire marine sector – from dinghy and sail repairs to full superyacht inventories – supporting club racers, cruisers, multihulls, classic yachts, and superyachts.

In addition to routine maintenance, structural repairs, and inventory refurbishments, the Fréjus facility provides secure, dry, and climate-controlled storage for sail wintering. According to North Sails, this specialised storage capacity addresses a growing demand from both yacht owners and management companies, filling a notable service gap in the Mediterranean market.

Owners along the French Riviera will be able to drop in, talk through a new sail or repair with the sales team in person, with services only a short drive from the shore. Owners weighing up a new inventory can also start a new-sail quote with the team in person.

The expansion strategy is twofold: maintaining service continuity for North Sails’ long-standing cruising and club-racing clientele, while leveraging the facility’s enhanced capacity to capture larger yacht business.

“We aim to become a key strategic alternative between Palma and Italy for the superyacht and classic yacht markets,” says Laurent Mahy, loft manager.
