Numarine appoints new CEO
Patrik von Sydow will undertake the role of CEO at Numarine as the Turkish shipyard enters ‘a new phase of growth’
von Sydow returns to Nurmarine after more than a decade – he previously served as CEO of Numarine from 2010 to 2012.
In his new role, von Sydow will focus on accelerating the development of Numarine’s product range, strengthening operations, and advancing global market presence, while maintaining the shipyard’s reputation for innovation, efficiency, and craftsmanship.
Most recently, von Sydow served as CEO of Turquoise Yachts, overseeing substantial growth and multiple high-profile deliveries.
Founder and Chairman Ömer Malaz will shift his attention toward long-term strategy, partnerships, and brand direction, ensuring continuity as the company scales.

“We are delighted to welcome Patrik back to Numarine,” says Malaz. “His experience in leading some of the industry’s most respected shipyards, combined with his deep understanding of our culture and product philosophy, makes him uniquely qualified for this role. Under his leadership, I am confident that Numarine will continue to thrive, expand, and deliver yachts that set new standards in design, performance, and quality.”
Patrik von Sydow comments: “Numarine has built an impressive position in the explorer yacht segment, and I am excited to rejoin the team at such a pivotal moment. The shipyard has a strong foundation, a loyal client base, and a clear product identity. My focus will be on developing the business further, strengthening operations, enhancing production capability, and supporting the continued success of the XP Series as we enter the next phase of growth.”
von Sydow’s appointment follows the shipyard strengthening its leadership team in a period of momentum for Numarine, including new model launches and increasing global demand for the XP Series, ranging from 22 to 47 metres. In June 2025, Numarine appointed Chris Gore as its new sales and marketing director.
In August 2025, the yard rolled out the second hull of its 30XP model, the brand’s 30-metre explorer superyacht equipped with a diesel-electric hybrid propulsion system.
