OceanLED launches Sport Mini underwater light

OceanLED has announced the Sport Mini, a compact surface-mounted underwater light designed for smaller boats. The light produces 1,500 fixture lumens and uses technology derived from the company’s superyacht lighting range.

“The Sport Mini represents everything OceanLED stands for,” says Daniele Todaro, managing director at OceanLED. “Rather than simply producing another compact underwater light, we’ve brought the engineering, optical design and reliability developed for our superyacht products into a fixture designed for everyday boat owners. The result is a compact light that delivers performance previously unavailable in this category.”

The Sport Mini uses underwater optics designed to distribute light across a wider area. OceanLED describes the resulting effect as a “blade of light”. The unit has a stated output of 1,500 fixture lumens, with power requirements of 12V DC at 0.9A or 24V DC at 0.5A.

The housing is made from marine-grade hard-anodised aluminium and has an IP69K rating for protection against water ingress. The light has a 75mm footprint.

Installation uses a surface-mounted design requiring a single 12.5mm hole, along with a single-wire connection. OceanLED says the light can be fitted to new boats or used to replace existing underwater lights.

The Sport Mini is being launched at the International BoatBuilders’ Exhibition & Conference (IBEX) in Tampa, Florida (6-8 October 2026), with OceanLED exhibiting the product on booth 3-632.
