Paddle Centre at Swanwick Marina now open

The new Paddle Centre at Premier’s Swanwick Marina officially opened last weekend.

With social distancing rules in place, the Paddle Centre located next to the slipway, provides local people and marina residents with the opportunity to hire stand up paddleboards and kayaks to enjoy the Hamble River throughout the summer season and beyond.

In addition to offering SUP and kayak hire on a ‘pay and play’ basis, the centre offers a raft of classes including Sunrise and Sunset SUP experiences, paddleboard safaris and SUP yoga. Plus, for anyone new to paddling, the centre has an experienced team on hand to help customers get on the water for the first time with 1.5 hour SUP taster lessons.  Attendees will learn basic SUP paddle skills, as well as all-important water safety before venturing out onto the water.

“We’re delighted to be open and we’re looking forward to helping more people access the water this summer, and throughout the year,” says Kyle Grady, Centre Manager of The Paddle Centre. “The River Hamble really is the most perfect location to enjoy paddling whether you are new to the water or not.”

The Paddle Centre has dedicated onsite parking, toilets and changing facilities, as well as provision to safely serve hot drinks and snacks to customers while maintaining COVID-19 restrictions.
