Propspeed, a company specialising in underwater foul-release coatings, has signed an agreement with Luka Marine Murter to act as its single-entry partner for Croatia and Slovenia. The collaboration will begin with a national technical training session for applicators and resellers ahead of the upcoming refit season.

Luka Marine Murter, established in 2008, is a privately-owned company focused on yacht sales and services. It will start importing Propspeed’s foul-release coating systems into the region from 1 April 2025.

It’s been a busy phase for Propspeed – in November, MIN sat down with Davide Burrini, Propspeed’s EMEA sales director, who confirmed Propspeed intends to expand further in Italy in the coming year, and shared details of the firm’s new deal with Nautor Swan.

In December, Propspeed named Nautilus Yacht Equipment as its exclusive partner in Greece and Cyprus, effective from 1 January 2025.

Earlier this month, Propspeed also announced a partnership with The International SeaKeepers Society (SeaKeepers), a Monaco-based non-profit that facilitates oceanographic research aboard private vessels.

“With our European market continuously growing, we are very excited to partner with the team at Luka Marine to expand the reach of Propspeed in this key region,” says Burrini, EMEA sales director, Propspeed. “Refit season will serve as the perfect opportunity to amplify our market influence, and we’re eager to collaborate with Luka to drive expansion and together further the Propspeed mission.”

Luka Skračić, CEO of Luka Marine Murter, says: “Our team is very excited to add the proven Propspeed line to our extensive catalogue of high-quality products. We are confident that boat owners and yacht brokers will see the value these products can bring, adding in the future longevity of a yacht’s systems, as well as the benefit of reduced maintenance costs and fuel savings.”

Propspeed develops foul-release, biocide-free coating systems designed to prevent marine growth on underwater components. The Propspeed Clear Coat is hydrophobic, with a low-friction surface that inhibits bio-fouling adhesion. Combined with strong adhesion to underwater metals, the full Propspeed system protects against fouling and corrosion, limits the spread of invasive species, and claims to reduce fuel consumption and associated emissions.

The product range includes Propspeed for running gear and underwater metals, Foulfree for transducers and Lightspeed for underwater lighting. The latest addition, Stripspeed, is a solvent-based paint stripper for underwater metals.
