Sasga Yachts names Jordi Ferrer as sales & marketing director
Menorca-based boatbuilder Sasga Yachts has appointed Jordi Ferrer as its new sales & marketing director to lead the shipyard’s international commercial and marketing strategy.
Ferrer brings two decades of international commercial leadership, spanning the yachting and technology industries and will report to Sasga Yachts’ general director.
The newly created role reflects the Sasga’s plans for international growth. The shipyard, which is based in Sant Lluís, Menorca, Spain, plans to double its business over the next four years. This, the company says, will be driven largely by expansion into the American and Asian markets.
As sales & marketing director, Ferrer (pictured left) will be responsible for defining, leading and executing the shipyard’s international sales and marketing strategy, with direct accountability for business results.
Ferrer’s mandate includes building out the shipyard’s international dealer network to support the wider growth plans.
The yard’s newest model, the Menorquín 48 Flybridge, won the European Yacht & Powerboat of the Year award in 2026, in the category for yachts up to 18 meters.
Ferrer has more than 20 years of international commercial leadership experience, including ten years in the yachting industry. From 2005 to 2015, he was sales & marketing lead at Hermanos Guasch Embarcaciones Deportivas, a Mediterranean yacht dealer based in L’Hospitalet de l’Infant, Spain, with a portfolio of motor and sailing yachts from 20ft to 76ft. Sales grew 20 percent a year under his direction and topped €4 million in his final year.
For the past decade, Ferrer has worked in technology marketing. From 2021 to 2026, he was senior demand gen & digital marketing manager at Palo Alto Networks, running paid media strategy for the company’s cybersecurity business across North America and Latin America and managing quarterly budgets of $2 million to $3 million.
Ferrer comments: “I started in this industry 20 years ago, selling yachts on the Costa Dorada. Coming back to build the Sasga Yachts/Menorquín name feels less like a new job and more like a homecoming. I want to bring the marketing discipline I built at VMware and Palo Alto Networks together with what I learned about closing yacht sales in person, in front of the customer. Doubling this business in four years means building a real presence in the Americas and Asia, not just adding a few dealers on paper.”
José Luis Sastre, executive chairman, Sasga Yachts adds: “Jordi’s appointment represents another step forward in an evolution that began in 1978, when my father, Juan Sastre Bernat, founded Astilleros Menorca. Since then, we have sought to preserve our traditions and craftsmanship while continuing to evolve in response to the needs of each new era. The creation of Sasga Yachts was the natural evolution of that family project as we entered an increasingly international, demanding and competitive market.
“Today, we are embarking on a new chapter in that same journey, further professionalising our organisation and driving the international growth of the brand. Jordi’s experience, both within the marine industry and in international companies, will help us build a stronger and more professional commercial organisation while preserving what has made us different for almost fifty years: our Menorcan roots, the quality of our yachts, and our unique way of understanding and enjoying the sea.”
