Sialia Yachts appoints new COO

Sialia Yachts has appointed Marco Plicchi as chief operating officer. The company, which develops electric performance yachts ranging from 13 to 30 metres, says that, as COO, Plicchi will be responsible for overseeing production activities and leading the development of new models and product lines.

Plicchi’s remit also includes increasing operational efficiency, advancing technological development and maintaining product quality.

Sialia Yachts is currently in the final production stages of its new fully electric Sialia 45, a yacht with a top speed of 43 knots and a range described by the company as the largest in its class. The vessel is scheduled to launch in June 2025 and is set to make its public debut at the Cannes Yachting Festival in September.

Plicchi is a marine engineer with over 25 years of experience in the luxury yacht sector. He has held senior operational roles at several high-profile shipyards, including 14 years at Ferretti Group, leading design, engineering, production and after-sales functions with brands including Custom Line and Pershing. His work has included new product development, ERP system implementation, sea trials and quality control.

Sialia Yachts was founded in 2017 and is owned by Silent Straits. The company focuses on building electric yachts with an emphasis on performance and sustainability. It was launched by Stanislav Szadkowski in partnership with engineer Tomasz Gackoski, CEO at Ampros.

The company’s electric yachts use the proprietary Ampros electric management system. In 2022, it introduced its first model, the Sialia 57 Deep Silence, and currently offers the Sialia 45, 59 and 80 Explorer.

Sialia Yachts is headquartered in Warsaw and Cyprus, with additional team members based in the Netherlands, Germany, Italy and the US.
