Miami 2026: Simrad Marine Electronics introduces NSO 4 multifunction display

Simrad NSO 4

Simrad Marine Electronics has launched the NSO 4 multifunction display as part of its 80th anniversary year. The unit, debuting this week at the 2026 Miami Boat Show, operates on the Neon operating system and expands the brand’s range of premium chartplotters and fishfinders.

“For 80 years, Simrad has never settled – always pushing boundaries to deliver the most advanced marine electronics,” says Yasser Nafei, president of electronic solutions for Navico Group, Simrad’s parent company. “With NSO 4, we’re ushering in a new era of ultra-premium multifunction displays. This launch marks a generational leap forward, powered by our all-new Neon operating system – the most intuitive OS we’ve ever created.

“Combined with advanced sonar compatibility, stunning C-Map charting, and seamless integration across the entire vessel, NSO 4 is the ultimate command centre, purpose-built for offshore adventures.”

The NSO 4 range starts at US$6,499

The NSO 4 is available in 16, 22 and 24-inch display formats. It is powered by a Qualcomm 8-core processor. Simrad states that the system provides 35 per cent faster boot times, auto-routing calculated up to 10 times faster and eight times more storage capacity compared with previous models. The display incorporates a glass-to-edge finish and curved edges, and includes user-customisation options, such as a swipe-to-reveal activity bar for access to core functions.

The unit integrates with Simrad systems, including radar, sonar and engine monitoring. It supports multiple sonar modules, Halo radars with Bird+ mode and FishCast, an on-screen monitoring tool powered by ROFFS forecasts. Navigation functions include auto-routing, chart safety alerts and AutoTrack Radar target tracking. The display can also be configured to manage onboard systems such as lighting and audio from a single interface.

NSO 4 is compatible with C-Map Discover X and Reveal X charts. The X-Chart Manager enables chart updates via internet connection and allows users to select and download custom coverage areas. The system supports simultaneous use of multiple chart types, including third-party providers such as CMOR Mapping, StrikeLines and Standard Mapping.

The system is compatible with the Simrad suite, including S3100H and S5100 sonar modules and Halo radar, and supports integration with Mercury, CZone and SiriusXM systems. It features a full-HD SolarMAX IPS display viewable in sunlight and with polarised sunglasses, a rear-mount installation system and four-way camera split functionality.
