South West business sponsors 2022 Classic sailing event

Atkins Ferrie Wealth Management will be the headline sponsor of the 2022 Falmouth Classics, following the company being a major sponsor of the event in 2021. Now in its 35th year, the sailing event will take place from 17 to 19 June with participating vessels arriving in port on 16 June.

As well as three races and the Sunday morning parade of power and sail, the 2022 Falmouth Classics will see the return of the Classics Maritime Village on Custom House Quay, the small boat parade on Sunday afternoon, and the rowing and sculling event on Saturday afternoon between the Royal Cornwall Yacht Club and the Greenbank Hotel.

James Sculthorp-Wright, strategic development director and chartered financial planner of Atkins Ferrie Wealth Management says: “We are delighted to be the headline sponsor for Falmouth Classics 2022, continuing our historic support of the event. It is fundamental to us that we support local events, and we are proud to be working with the volunteers that make Falmouth Classics the success that it is.”

The Classics will coincide with the return of the popular Falmouth International Shanty Festival.

Since 2017, Falmouth Classics has been the largest classic and heritage sailing event in the South West and one of the two largest in the UK. The organising team says it looks forward to welcoming beautiful sailing craft, many with traditional rigs from around the UK and France.
